Long-eared Owl
The Long-eared Owl Mask captures something of the quiet mystery of this elusive woodland hunter. With its distinctive ear tufts and watchful expression, the long-eared owl is more often heard than seen, spending its days concealed amongst branches before emerging silently at dusk.
Handcrafted from natural wool on a lightweight felted base, the mask has been gently stiffened and moulded on a mask form to make it comfortable to wear and durable enough for display.
The mask includes a removable mounting pad, allowing it to be displayed as a striking wall piece when not being worn. The eyes shown in the photographs are felted onto the mounting pad and complete the display, but are not part of the mask itself.
The reverse of the mask is lined with soft polycotton for comfort, and the mask is light for its size, with good visibility when worn.
As with all Valerian Fibres creations, this is a one-of-a-kind piece, handmade with care from natural wool and inspired by the beauty of the natural world.
